A few quick items

  • Plasco Energy, which has developed plasma arc technology for waste-to-energy and coal treatment applications, announced they raised a C$7.3M round (including C$4.5M from lead funder Killick Capital) to fund facilities in Ottawa and Barcelona. A pdf of the announcement is available here.
  • Today's fun read: This article from the Montreal Gazette about attempts to create add-ons to the internal combustion engine to make it burn more efficiently. Certainly, the internal combustion engine isn't going away anytime soon.

This innovation sounds interesting. Another scientific breakthrough will be good. The thing I like best here is the fact that cola is being treated. Perhaps it can do something about bodies of water contaminated my coal.
